Yay! Thanks Sammie. Say hi to everyone for me - INK,Skye, Nebbisk, etc. Looks like some new faces are there to replace me - that's good.
Oboe! Where have you been? We missed your writings. :(
Thanks. It’s nice of you to say you miss my writing but I’m afraid my days as an INKster are over.
I don’t have a home computer and only came into SL on my work machine. It actually started as a work project to see if we could use SL for continuing education.
My graphics card is not one of the two SL compatible cards but I got along for months by turning down the graphics settings and keeping to low traffic areas. The update to 1.18 changed everything. It didn’t load from the SL window. I had to go out and install it as if it were the first installation. Then the graphics went crazy. I couldn’t move properly, colors all fluctuated. It was just a frustrating mess! (Hence my July 17 entry – your hue) I guess Linden improved SL by getting rid of me!
Voice is also a problem at the office. In the past, if I wanted to do something in SL at an odd time, I’d just move my lunch hour and type away – but you can hardly sit there chatting into the computer in the office at 2 in the afternoon.
In truth, INKsters and a few friends were the reasons I kept coming back to SL. INKsters was the most interesting thing I found in all my SL explorations. Thanks to you I have the collections in an out-of-SL format – a souvenir of my short writing career.
I’m taking a class on adolescent development now and getting my writing exercises there!
The topics for September look really good! I’ll look forward to reading them.
Oboe
I'm sorry to hear that you are leaving. We will miss you greatly. Keep me up to date on how you are doing, ok? I'd love to hear what you are up to. Take care, Oboe.
We miss you Oboe!!! Come back to Second Life. It's not the same without you.
